Protecting your bluestone and other natural stones
Question:
How do I treat my bluestone?
Answer:
Application: You can treat bluestone with an easy-to-use and long-lasting impregnation agent to make bluestones and color-sensitive stones resistant to oil, water, moss and dust. This can be used indoors and outdoors. 'Bluestoneprotect' penetrates the treated surface, does not or hardly glosses and does not change the surface.
How do I apply this? The base must be dry. Clean the surface beforehand. Apply undiluted Bluestoneprotect using a longhaired brush, sprayer or cloth. The best method is to apply the product lavishly so that the base is completely saturated (take care that there are no puddles). Remove the excess product with a cloth. Use a cloth to apply the product to less absorbent areas and repeat the treatment within 30 minutes. It is advisable to apply 2 layers to porous bases. The second layer can be applied 24 hour after the first one. Work only when the temperature is above 5°C. You can clean your tools with white alcohol. Consumption: 1 liter per 3-9 m2 (possibly two treatments in case of porous foundation).
Pre-treatment: Non-absorbent bases cannot be protected. You have to protect surfaces that are sensitive to soluble agents. You would also need to try the treatment on a small spot before you apply it to the entire surface. Don't forget to switch off the floor heating. Content: 500ml.
